It seems that the legendary snow-white Umka from the beloved Soviet cartoon has got relatives: an installation by the famous Italian artist has opened in the Perrotin gallery in New York Paola Piviwhich presents eight colorful bears … Despite the fact that the sculptures are made of polyurethane foam, plastic and multi-colored feathers, the animals look like real plush toys, albeit of a large size.
We have already told the readers of the site Kulturologiya. Ru about the works of Paola Pivi. Previously, the artist surprised with chandeliers with designer chairs, now it's the turn of original sculptures. The bears look very funny, because it seems that they are frozen in the midst of the fun: some are dancing, others are jumping, and still others are lying on the floor.
Paola Pivi says that the idea for the installation came about by chance: once she had a dream in which there was one polar bear and two grizzlies dancing with each other. The artist set out to make her dream come true, because the sculptures of animals had to be made from the most suitable materials. By the way, the sculptures are on sale, they can be purchased for $ 90,000. The installation will be presented in the gallery until October 26, so everyone can admire these lovely creatures.
