Video: Crayon Sculptures by Herb Williams
2024 Author: Richard Flannagan | [email protected]. Last modified: 2023-12-15 23:55
Herb Williams creates and creates his amazing sculptures and panels using multicolored Crayola crayons. No, do not think, he does not paint with them, but makes his masterpieces from these small bright sticks. The sculptor gives life to objects that are considered to be disposable, because in his works, crayons acquire a voted life, continuing to exist in his sculptures. His original style is called Crayola art.
Herb Williams considers himself the only person in the world who has entered into an individual contract with the manufacturer for the supply of drawing objects. Crayola, the world's largest manufacturer of these colored wax crayons, delivers them in boxes of 3,000 each.
On average, it takes about 250,000 multi-colored sticks for one job. Using ordinary cigar scissors, he gives the crayons the length he needs to create a particular sculpture. He uses epoxy to stabilize his creation, and then paints on the resin sculpture.
The cost of his work ranges from £ 650 to £ 40,000.

They need not only to be viewed, but to be able to understand and read, as one reads comics or stories written with pictures. Having studied the technique of creating relief sculptures, the artist willingly applies it in her own work, as can be seen by looking at the works from the Food topographic sculp series
