While we are surprised that some designers make furniture out of steel or in the form of cacti, others prefer to use … people in their projects. Sounds strange, doesn't it? But not for David Blazquez.
To say that his collection of furniture looks impressive is to say nothing. And whether she likes it or not is difficult to answer. Surprisingly, such a collection of furniture was created by a man from the men themselves, as strange as it may sound. It would seem that in their projects, photographers most often use women in order to convey their thoughts and ideas with the help of the beauty of their bodies. Here is the complete opposite.
The collection received the name "Furniture from people", and it fully justifies itself. In the photographs, we can see pieces of furniture composed with the help of naked men. They have shelves on them, representing a wardrobe; countertops depicting tables; TV and globe, trying to create the image of a bedside table; and one even had a lampshade on his head - an excellent lamp turned out! There is also a mirror, a bed, an ironing board and much more. To be honest, some photos are perplexing - how did the men have to curl up to lie on top of each other, trying to depict a bed or a bath? By the way, this is just one of the few works where you can generally see men depicting anything. And I wonder what caused the creation of this project, what inspired the designer to do this? I am sure that men will not be delighted with the project. What's so good about looking at pictures of naked individuals of the same sex as you. But the ladies will certainly be interested in the exhibition … Still, one has to see too few such works in galleries.
Unfortunately or fortunately, it is not possible to see the exhibition "live" - only photographs were exhibited. You can come and admire them from April 6th to May 5th at the El Fotomata showroom located in Seville, Spain.
