Are all these traffic lights responsible for the movement of vehicles at the intersection with the most heavy traffic, and how do drivers know which traffic light they should be guided by?
In fact, this traffic light installation is a work of art by a talented Frenchman named Pierre Vivant. Eight meters high, the divine sculpture, equipped with 75 lights, was installed in 1999 in the East End, a large industrial and port working district of London.
The installation titled The Traffic Light Tree won an international competition.
“The sculpture mimics the natural landscape, blending in well with the nearby maple-leaved plane trees, while the changing color of the lights (red-yellow-green) reflects the never-ending rhythm of daily financial and commercial activities that are rapidly moving forward.
