Silk painting is a complex art that requires impeccable craftsmanship. Carried away by the technique of Chinese painting, Alina Oseeva in her own way re-sings the classic oriental motives. Graceful execution, beauty and spirituality - all this is in the works of the Ukrainian artist.
It is not without reason that working with silk is considered an art for the elite - it is a unique material that provides ample opportunities for creativity (admire the appliqué landscapes made of silk by Maeno Takashi and silk-screen printing by Graham Carter). On a wonderful fabric, you can draw the smallest details, the picture is bright and breathes with ease. But unlike canvas, silk does not tolerate mistakes - every touch of the artist's brush will remain in the picture forever. Alina Oseeva is one of the few who independently mastered the difficult art of traditional Chinese painting. Having a higher art education, she painted in oils and watercolors for many years, but having become acquainted with the works of Chinese masters, she has been drawing on silk for almost 10 years.
Her first works were small fragments in the classical style, with a rehash of Chinese stories. After all, the larger and more complex the silk picture, the higher the risk of error. Each canvas requires a lot of work, patience and concentration. Years passed before she was able to fully realize her ideas, but keeping the Chinese motive, now her works can rightfully be called unique.
Having found her style, Oseeva created several series of paintings united by a specific theme: butterflies, flowers, landscapes, animals, and all of them amaze with their realism and beauty. On the site-gallery of the artist, more than a hundred reproductions of her works are presented, and most of the works are breathtaking.
Alina says that in many ways she does not understand the East, because this culture is so different from the West. But in her own way, retelling the motives of ancient Chinese painting, her paintings acquired a unique charm.
