Every day, Internet users upload a myriad of pictures of their cats, dogs and other pets to social networks, collecting thousands of likes. In the Soviet Union, the concept of a global network did not exist, but this does not mean that there were no favorite animals either. This review contains photographs of animals that aroused affection throughout the country.
1. Belka and Strelka
Perhaps the first favorites of the allied scale were two dogs - Belka and Strelka. Animals returning from space alive were actively shown on television, printed on postcards, and taken to all kinds of scientific exhibitions.
Arrow then gave birth to offspring and gave birth to four puppies, one of whom, named Pushinka, settled in the White House. Nikita Khrushchev gave it to the Kennedy family.
2. Little lion Kunak
In the early 1970s, the film "The Path of Unselfish Love" was released. In the story, the forester picks up the remaining one lynx cub in the forest and raises it in his house. The animal grows up, and a friendship is struck between them. A funny and playful little lynx could not fail to evoke universal emotion. The film even received three sequels.
3. Kuklachev's cats
Today, social media users post photos of their cats at every opportunity. And if the fluffy pet also gives a paw on command, then there is no price for it. Yuri Kuklachev's cats conquered the entire Soviet Union. He became the first to use these wayward animals in the circus arena. Well, how can you not be touched when, on command, the cat stands on its front paws or dances in a suit to the tune of the trainer.
4 White Bim Black Ear
The film "White Bim Black Ear" in 1977 was watched by 20 million viewers. People shed tears, sympathizing with the hero on the screen. The dog immediately became a popular favorite, and in every second yard one could find a dog named Bim.
5. Mukhtar
Today, a police dog is unlikely to be called cute, but in the Soviet Union, the movie dog Mukhtar was adored by everyone. He fearlessly grappled with criminals and looked for hidden things. For a long time, after the release of this film, people willingly took German shepherd puppies.
6. Olympic mascot
Not only live animals were objects of adoration of Soviet citizens. The mascot of the 1980 Summer Olympic Games, the bear Mikhail Potapovich Toptygin, received truly nationwide love. The image was incredibly popular over the years, and it was called nothing but "Affectionate Misha".
Well, today's animals keep up with the times and collect tens of thousands of likes. They are especially affectionate animals that take selfies of themselves.

What do non-celebrity favorites and darlings of celebrities look like and do
They say that opposites attract. Despite the fact that a famous actor, singer or any other media person is quite difficult to imagine paired with an ordinary, simple person who does not rotate in secular circles, this, nevertheless, happens quite often. Today we will share the stories of seven star couples, where the other half never basked in the rays of glory
What friends-artists, famous throughout the Soviet Union, did not share: 3 star quarrels
Yuri Nikulin and Oleg Popov, Efremov and Evstigneev, as well as Magomayev and Bulbul-oglu: all the examples collected in this collection are especially sad because of the sincere friendship that famous artists showed before their quarrels. It seems that they were all incredibly talented, loved by the audience and performed with constant success, but until the end of their lives they continued to be enemies
A giant rabbit, or a huge portion of affection. Sculpture Great stuffed rabbit by Christian Gonsenbach
People can love cats and be afraid of dogs, hate mice and breed fish. But I have not yet seen those who would be absolutely indifferent to rabbits. Decorative rabbits are cute and funny, children love to play with them. Wild rabbits are tasty and fast; men prefer to hunt them. Well, rabbit fur coats are worn with pleasure by those women who cannot afford a mink or chinchilla. Not indifferent to rabbits and the Swiss sculptor Christian Gonzenbach (Christian Gonzenbach), and therefore one of his
Why did the Finns love the Soviet song of the 1950s and why is it sung throughout the country today?
This song was born thanks to Mark Bernes, who became its first performer. Later she entered the repertoire of Georgy Ots and Yuri Gulyaev, Joseph Kobzon, Edita Piekha and many other famous performers. This song became one of the most beloved in Finland, where it is still one of the best-selling songs. In the spring of 2020, the composition took on a new sound after the Oulu police posted a video on the network titled "Love life - a new day will come!"
The riddle of "Poor Liza" by Kiprensky: why this picture aroused special feelings in the artist
In 1792, N. Karamzin's sentimental story "Poor Liza" was published, and 35 years later the artist Orest Kiprensky painted a picture of the same name based on the plot of this work. It was based on the tragic story of a young peasant girl, seduced by a nobleman and abandoned by him, as a result of which she committed suicide. Many considered Karamzin's words “And the peasant women know how to love” as a key phrase explaining the idea of Kiprensky's painting. However, the artist also had deeply personal motives
