People can love cats and be afraid of dogs, hate mice and breed fish. But I have not yet seen those who would be absolutely indifferent to rabbits. Decorative rabbits are cute and funny, children love to play with them. Wild rabbits are tasty and fast; men prefer to hunt them. Well, rabbit fur coats are worn with pleasure by those women who cannot afford a mink or chinchilla. Rabbit lover and Swiss sculptor Christian Gonzenbach, and therefore one of his sculptures is a giant white rabbit, and it is called Great stuffed rabbit … Rabbits are not only valuable fur, which every inhabitant of the former CIS knows about. But for the sculpture of Christian Gosenbach, only this very fur was needed. There is a lot of fur, more than 600 skins taken from these little animals. Being familiar with the intricacies of taxidermy processing, the sculptor independently put the skins in order and created one big one out of small rabbits. It's just huge.
The height of this mega rabbit, including the ears, is 5 meters, and the length, together with the tail, is almost 3 meters. Such animals do not exist in our world … But if you think about it, it was the white rabbit that Alice followed to Wonderland. And it there so many times it decreased, then grew. "A lot of obscurity in a strange country" is probably, and the white rabbit is not as simple as it seems. In any case, the giant rabbit sculpture presented by the author deserves attention, if only because it is soft, white and fluffy, and this is always a sea of tenderness and positiveness.
The sculpture was presented several years ago at the Galerie Synopsis m gallery in the French city of Lausanne as part of the exhibition Zoonomia.
