We live in a difficult time - constant stress, fears, days are calculated by the clock. In this turmoil, we desperately need sincere kindness, understanding, joy in hefty doses every day, so as not to lose the taste for life. In the field of photography, Nick Onken contributes to this, whose photographs are filled with sunlight, children's laughter and unusual and fun situations.
It is very good that, in addition to the pursuit of form and modern manifestations, like Madeline von Foerster's postmodern paintings, there are artists, sculptures and photographers who illuminate the path in the dark with the most gentle and warm light. Iris Agozs did it in her children's drawings, Nick Onken does it in his photos.
Nick Onken first discovered the wonderful world of photography at the age of three. Rather, he discovered the Kodak camera, which immediately began to investigate, first of all trying to put the device in his mouth. At the same time, his eyes shone with happiness. However, only 20 years later, he mastered the camera in earnest, having first been a graphic designer. He works with Reebok, Suzuky, Nike, Pedigree and many more.
Capturing the best moments is his guiding principle, and his photographs fully convey Nick's positive attitude and love of travel.
Nick proving with each of his photos that such moments when life is Beautiful and everything goes as it should, not so rare. They (in the photo) do not have any delicacy in terms of light and shadow, there are no Photoshop excesses, crazy ideas and strange concepts. But this is not the main thing in art. The main thing is to express the beautiful. And what could be more beautiful than life? Especially in her best moments.
On his site there are several galleries united by one theme - for example, “Children”, “Anti-gravity”, but this feeling of the best, brightest, brightest moment unites them all.

Who in the USSR went to school for a fee, and How they dealt with the hard-core truants
Soviet education was of high quality, affordable and free. But there was a period in the educational history of the USSR when education in senior school classes cost money. In 1941, a decree on criminal liability for violating school discipline came into force. Malicious violators were expelled from the educational institution and could be exposed to
"Tear of Socialism" in St. Petersburg: How Soviet Writers Lived in a House Built on the Principle of a Commune
This gray apartment building in St. Petersburg, or rather, Leningrad, was supposed to symbolize the new life of a citizen of the Soviet country - modest, no frills, organized on the principle of a commune. And no one was settled there, but young writers. However, time has shown that such features of housing as "everything in common" and "toilet on the floor" is not a step into the future, but stupidity. It is no coincidence that the townspeople almost immediately began to call this house "The Tear of Socialism"
Collage as a principle of the worldview: paintings from puzzles by Gerhard Mayer
A certain picture was divided into many pieces with ingenious notches, so that each piece has its own place. The task is to collect what the authors of the puzzle have depicted. This is the usual approach to puzzles. But there is also an alternative - the method of young children and the German artist Gerhard Mayer: they create their own canvases from these fragments. The result is landscapes in an impressionistic haze and works with elements of surrealism
