Video: Dirceu Veiga: Another Coffee Lover Artist

Coffee paintings seem to have become a separate branch of art, as the number of artists who are ready to splash double cappuccino with hazelnut syrup on paper is growing. So the Brazilian illustrator and designer Dirceu Veiga decided to try his hand at this. The result is, perhaps, less monumental canvases than those of other coffee-loving artists, but more lively and funny.
As I said, the art of coffee is not new. You probably know that the essence of it is that instead of paint and ink, only coffee is used, and you have probably already read about monumental coffee paintings by Karen Eland or about coffee art by Angel Sarkela and Andy Saur. … The works of Dirceu Veiga are, in fact, not coffee paintings, but coffee drawings, more reminiscent not of the Tretyakov Gallery, but of a comic book magazine. This is the distinctive feature of Dirceu Veiga. He even has coffee cartoons.
In general, this artist makes his living mainly by illustrations and design. He began his career in 1994, drawing for children's books for several publishers. In 2001, he opened his own design studio, then called Shoffar Studio, and in 2003 renamed Fast Icon Studio, which is his main work. But Dirceu Veiga is a big fan of both art and coffee, and in 2007 he combined these two passions. He even created a separate website dedicated specifically to the art of coffee. You can even order your own coffee-painted portrait.
