American Caleb Charland can be confidently called one of the most extraordinary photographers of our time, since the basis of his work is a scientific experiment. The result is illustrations in the spirit of "entertaining physics": amazing and bright in the literal sense of the word.
We have already told our readers about scientific experiments in photographs of Caleb Charland. Today we will talk about his new project "Back to Light", in which the talented artist showed that the light source can be … ordinary fruits! What serves as a great dessert for us turns into a light generator for Caleb. The creative laboratory involved apples, oranges, lemons, limes, grapefruits, pomelo and vinegar solution.
Caleb Charland began working on this unusual project in 2010, when he first managed to build a "battery" from potatoes. To do this, he needed to attach a galvanized nail with a copper wire attached to one part of the vegetable. Electrons travel from the nail along the wire, providing a high voltage sufficient to light a small LED. When the experiment with potatoes was successful, other products were also used.
Charland admits that through these experiments he tried not only to show the answer to one of the secrets of the world order, but also to remind mankind of the problem of finding alternative energy sources. Of course, the presented photos are a utopia, but they illustrate the endless possibilities of a person in search of new ways of energy supply.
Charland plans to make such hydroelectric generators part of landscape design. While you can admire the finished works in the galleries of Chicago and Boston, as well as on the photographer's personal website.

What energy looks like. Energy Beings art project, digital painting by Kouji Oshiro Kochi
People talk a lot about energy - good and bad, positive and negative, energy of terrestrial and extraterrestrial origin and other joys of the unknown. Peruvian illustrator Kouji Oshiro Kochi tried to imagine this by looking into the depths of his subconscious and armed with a fair amount of imagination. His
