Imagine the streets of any more or less large city. Now imagine that they are completely free of cars. No traffic jams. No accidents. No noise. No movement whatsoever. It is from this point of view that Matt Logue looked at Los Angeles in his photography project, freeing the streets of the city from traffic and people.
By and large, nothing has changed in urban landscapes: the same houses, intersections, car parks … But the lack of people and transport makes Los Angeles uncomfortable, unsettled and even somewhat apocalyptic. As if all the inhabitants of a huge city took and moved overnight to, say, New York. Or they simply disappeared, leaving behind only a stone jungle.
Matt Logue has been working on bringing his ideas to life for the past four years, after which he published them in the form of a book called "empty L. A." It was not by chance that the author chose Los Angeles: the second most populous city in the United States, devoid of its inhabitants, makes a particularly strong impression.
Matt Logue does not reveal exactly how he created his photographs, "clearing" the streets of cars and pedestrians. Most likely, this is computer processing, because it is unlikely that the author could achieve a complete absence of traffic on busy streets in broad daylight. But we, as viewers, are not interested in the way the photographs are taken, but the emotions they evoke and the idea behind the photographs.
“I've always leaned towards photography as a way to express myself and also as a way to tell stories. Most of all, I love those forms of art that make the viewer think and create their own stories - it is for this purpose that I create my landscape photography and other projects,”says Matt Logue.
Matt Logue works in the special effects industry for films. He took part in the work on The Lord of the Rings in New Zealand. The photographer currently lives in Los Angeles with his family.

How the empty graves of the cenotaph appeared, And who do people worship on them
A gravestone over an empty or non-existent grave sounds like the beginning of a detective story. But it is quite possible that we are talking about a cenotaph, and then the novel can become historical. Homeless Los Angeles Photo Project by Michael Pharaoh
People who do not have a roof over their heads cause pity in some, sympathy in others, and aggression in others. What do we know about them? As a rule, nothing, because hardly any of us would think to communicate with a person who is gradually losing all ties with society. However, New Zealand photographer Michael Pharaoh is convinced that, despite all the difficulties, these people do not lose their human appearance, because you can still see a variety of shades of feelings in their eyes
