Video: Cut metal sculptures from Park Chan-girl

South Korean artist Park Chan-girl - a fan of metal and scrap metal. For him, the very idea of melting old metal seems to be blasphemy. After all, it is still quite possible to use it. For example, to create unusual metal sculptures, which the author himself calls Sliced Images.
In the current work of Park Chen-gel, you can hardly find at least one sculpture made from a single piece of any material. After all, he is a fan of mosaic art, puzzles, assembling something big and complete from small pieces. So all of his works are a clear illustration of the principle “with the world along a string”, that is, “with the world on a ring, on a plate”.
Moreover, Park Chen-gel creates both original sculptures, the author of the idea and visual implementation of which he is, and copies already existing, world-famous images in his own manner, such as, for example, the sculpture of Apollo or a photograph of Marilyn Monroe with a draft blown from the ventilation of the subway skirt.
Once we told you on our website about the deconstruction of your own body in sculptures by Antony Gormley. The work of Park Chen-gel is somewhat similar to the above example. It's just that it is much more accurate, straightforward, but at the same time it is all the same deconstructivist.
After all, Park Chen-gel has its own approach to deconstructivism. He “disassembles” and “assembles again” not his own body, but metal products, turns rusty metal into shiny (literally and figuratively) sculptures!
