Christmas and gingerbread are lovebirds for those who love this series of New Year's holidays and honor Christmas traditions. Gingerbread has recently become a tradition for our Christmas, but in the West it is a long-standing practice, as well as contests, sculptures and installations from this delicacy. Artist and chef Renee Baumann created an amazing sculptural installation for the holiday Gingerbread brooklyn … A whole neighborhood of New York in the shape of a toasted gingerbread. However, Rene Baumann did not work on the installation alone. She was helped by volunteers, people who saw the announcement on Rene's blog and agreed to participate in the creation of the Christmas miracle. Together they made walls and roofs, doors and porches, fire escapes and balconies out of dough, carved decorations from dough, and designed gingerbread "brick" buildings to look no different from real Brooklyn buildings.
Everything, absolutely everything in this huge installation is edible. Even glasses and lanterns, because they are made of sugar and are, in fact, candy canes. Renee Baumann has been hatching the idea of gingerbread Brooklyn since last year, and this year she managed to make her dream come true. The finished sculpture was presented at the well-known Brooklyn pub 61 Local, where everyone could admire the man-made masterpiece through glass, photograph and be photographed nearby. Subsequently, they plan to sell the sculptural installation at an auction, and the proceeds will go to charity, to the City Harvest organization. According to the author of the project, Rene Baumann, vulnerable segments of the population should also feel the spirit of Christmas and get their portion of sweets.
