You will be surprised, but many of these women, not only were at one with their halves, but also took an active part in the politics of their countries. It is not for nothing that they say that husband and wife are one Satan. The scary thing is that most of them never repented of their deeds. But what exactly were the spouses of the people who committed the worst crimes in the history of mankind?

Eva Braun (wife of Adolf Hitler)

Paradox: one of the most cruel and cynical rulers in the history of mankind in relation to women was completely different, affectionate and courteous. Perhaps that is why young Eva Braun could not resist the charms of the Fuhrer.

Young people met in a photo studio where the future love of the dictator worked. Hitler immediately liked the pretty assistant. But before he started courting her, he checked if the girl was a "real Aryan." And when he was convinced of this, he went on the offensive. Eve, whom Adolf loaded with gifts and flowers, could not resist.

Moreover, the girl fell in love so much that she literally breathed a man. It was all the more terrible for her to find out that her chosen one shared the bed not only with her. Unable to cope with disappointment, Brown made two suicide attempts, but she was saved.

Hitler, having learned that it was because of him that Eve tried to commit suicide, began to take care of her more. However, their meetings were still held in strict secrecy. What can we say about the fact that in society, lovers never appeared together, and few people even from the Fuhrer's accomplices knew about the existence of Brown. The girl who was destined to become the wife of the Romanian dictator was born into an ordinary peasant family. Studying was of little interest to her, and after graduating from several classes of school, Elena began to work. Perhaps her name would never have been included in history books if she had not met Nicole Ceausescu in 1939. The man just got out of prison, where he was imprisoned for theft. But for the girl, this did not become an obstacle: young people began to meet, and soon they decided to legalize their relationship.

After World War II, Nicolae began to make a political career, and Elena not only supported him in everything, but did not forget about herself: despite the almost complete lack of education, the wife of the Romanian politician even managed to get several degrees.

How well-coordinated the family tandem was can be judged by the fact that the couple together began to plant a personality cult in Romania. Not without the help of Elena, laws were introduced in the country that gradually destroyed the economy. In addition, it is she who is accused of genocide by more than 60 thousand people. And the wife of the dictator, having decided that the title of head of the Academy of Sciences was not enough for her, soon received the post of deputy prime minister of the state.

Nicolae and Elena loved luxury, lived in houses that looked more like palaces. However, they did not care how their people lived. Moreover, one day the spouses decided that people did not know how to save at all, and ordered to reduce the amount of food consumed and reduce electricity consumption even in social institutions. Because of this, in 1983, dozens of newly born babies died right in incubators.

The people's patience ran out at the end of 1989 when an anti-communist rally was brutally suppressed by Ceausescu. The ministers refused to support them, and the dictator and his wife were tried by a military tribunal. At the end of December, Nikolae and Elena were shot.

Raquele Mussolini (wife of Benito Mussolini)

Meanwhile, Benito changed his mistresses, but always returned home. But everything changed when he met a young admirer Clara Petacci - she managed to become Mussolini's constant mistress. And Raquel became worried, realizing that she was going to fight for her husband.

In April 1945, Mussolini fled from Petacci to Switzerland, leaving his wife and children behind. But the lovers were seized by Italian partisans and hanged at a gas station. Raquel also tried to escape, but she was detained and handed over to the Americans. However, the dictator's wife was soon released, and she even opened a restaurant and received a pension from the Italian Republic for the rest of her life.

Carmen Polo (wife of Francisco Franco)

The Spanish dictator and close friend of Adolf Hitler met his future wife long before taking the helm of his country. The Carmen family was considered one of the most distinguished in the country. Therefore, her relatives coldly accepted the 24-year-old Major Franco, who began to look after the girl.

However, this attitude only provoked Francisco's intention to achieve reciprocity from the girl. And despite the fact that the relatives were against, in the end Polo agreed to marry a poor military man.

Soon, Franco's political career took off. Along with this, romance disappeared in the relationship of the spouses, and their union more and more remained a formality. However, it was Carmen who was destined to play the role of the "gray cardinal": she actively intervened in the political life of the country, eliminated those who could have influence on her husband, included "her people" in the government and even made her husband's work schedules. But even this Polo seemed not enough, and soon she decided to intervene in legislative activity. It was with her filing that Spanish women were forbidden to leave their husbands, take loans, testify in court, and even engage in science.

Franco died in 1975, and in the last years Carmen lived as a recluse: she rarely left her apartment, kept in touch with almost no one and was not interested in politics. She outlived her husband for 12 years.

Ekaterina Dangiade (wife of Jean Bedel Bokassa)

Ekaterina Dangiada was only 13 years old when 40-year-old officer Jean Bedel Bokassa, who returned to his homeland, to the Central African Republic, saw her. The man already had five unsuccessful marriages behind him, but he was determined to find a new wife. And young Katrin (as her relatives also called her) was suitable for this role: a representative of a noble family was supposed to become a good party for a former military man with great political ambitions. But Dangiada's relatives did not immediately approve of the union of lovers, and she became Bokassa's wife three years later.

In 1966, Jean Bedel staged a coup d'etat in the Central African Republic and declared himself president. Catherine, on the other hand, became the "chief" of the 19 wives of the new ruler. It was she who was allowed to accompany her husband at social receptions, interfere in the political affairs of the country and bathe in luxury.

Almost 20 years of Jean Bedel's rule were remembered for numerous repressions, executions, torture and even the facts of cannibalism. Once he personally cracked down on hundreds of schoolchildren for daring to protest against too expensive uniforms.

Moreover, in 1977, Bokassa decided to be crowned, and Catherine was declared "Empress". Hundreds of millions of dollars were spent for the ceremony, while most of the country lived in poverty. Dangiade quickly got used to a luxurious life: she did not deny herself anything and wore only designer clothes.

However, the dictator's wife did not differ in loyalty. Jean Bedel himself killed one of her lovers. Catherine, on the other hand, got out of the water dry. According to some reports, she later found a new "love": it turned out to be French President Valerie Giscard d'Estaing. True or not, but soon a coup d'etat was carried out by the forces of the army of a European country in the CAR. Bokassa had to flee, and Catherine moved to a castle near Paris.

Soon Jean Bedel returned to the CAR, was sentenced to death, but later fell under an amnesty and was released. The dictator died in 1996, after his death, Dangiade returned to her homeland, where she still lives.
