He dreamed of acting in films and clearly understood that this dream of his would never come true. But nevertheless, Nikolai Denisov went to his goal despite the circumstances, and today he can proudly say that he could achieve everything himself. His finest hour was the role in the film "Sentimental Romance", where the young actor had a chance to play together with Elena Proklova. And in the life of Nikolai Denisov, the plot of this fateful film was reflected to the smallest detail.

Profession in spite of

He was born in a dormitory barrack, where 13 families lived in one room, partitioned off by curtains. The inhabitants of the room drank and fought, no one was particularly ashamed of neighbors and did not stand on ceremony with the children. Nikolai Denisov's parents were ordinary workers with no secondary education. No one was involved in raising him, even when the family moved from the hostel, first to a communal apartment, and then to their own one-room apartment.

Today Nikolai Denisov recalls his childhood as a series of constant quarrels. A thin, slender boy lived in constant stress, his hands were shaking and tantrums often happened. At school, he was teased with Filipk because of his small stature, and sometimes called the Groundhog because of his ability to fall asleep in any position. He was a bully and a poor student, learned to drink and smoke early, stayed in the fifth grade for the second year. But he loved to arrange performances, and even enrolled in many circles in the recreation center. And then he independently entered the folk theater under the direction of Sergei Stein, with whom Vasily Lanovoy, Vera Vasilyeva, Valery Nosik studied. The theater showed performances at the factory during lunchtime, and after the very first roles played, Nikolai Denisov almost stopped being at home.

He dreamed of acting in films and on the advice of Viktor Perevalov, with whom he worked together in the theater, wrote a letter to Mosfilm, attaching a tiny photo with a pass to the pool. True, his answer from the film studio was slightly disappointed: Nikolai Denisov was recommended to graduate from school and enter a theater school. But he was not going to give up just like that. And once 12-year-old Nikolai was lucky. An assistant director from the Gorky film studio came to the school where he studied. Then he was first invited to audition, which he failed with excitement.

But at the age of 14, he played his first role in the film "Boys", after which there were "Shores", "Near these windows", "And in the Pacific …", even more than the salary that his mother received at ZIL.

Subsequently, Nikolai Denisov tried many different professions, but he always knew: he would definitely become an actor. He left school after the eighth grade, then passed exams for a matriculation certificate as an external student and was able to enter the Shchukin school on the second attempt, when he was already 20 years old. By that time, he already had a wife, Masha, with whom he took school exams as an external student.

Sentimental Romance

On the very first day of study at the Shchukin School, director Igor Maslennikov approached Nikolai Denisov and offered him a role in his film "Sentimental Romance". According to the plot, Denisov's hero Shura Sebastianov falls in love with the beautiful Zoya, played by Elena Proklova. But the actor himself could not even imagine while reading the script that this film would be reflected in his own life to the smallest detail.

Elena Proklova was the same age as Nikolai Denisov. True, he just entered the first year of theater, and she already served at the Moscow Art Theater. From the first day, the actress took patronage over the young actor and easily won the trust of her colleague. And Nikolai Denisov did not even notice how the line between what was happening on the set and real life was erased in his mind. Like his screen hero, Nikolai Denisov fell in love with Elena Proklova.

He constantly wanted to be near the actress, hear her voice, touch her hand. Almost everything that happened to his character in the film was reflected behind the scenes. Nikolai Denisov suffered and did not know what to do with himself in the absence of his beloved, tried to hide his feelings from others, but constantly betrayed himself. When Elena appeared next to him, he experienced incomparable happiness, and actually lived from meeting to meeting.

The relationship between Nikolai Denisov and Elena Proklova lined up in the same way as they developed in the heroes of the "Sentimental Novel".
