There were almost no leading roles in his filmography, but it was not for nothing that Alexander Chislov was called the king of the episode. The actor has starred in more than 250 films and his every appearance on the screen was vivid and memorable. He never sat without work, the directors gladly invited him to their projects, but behind the scenes the actor's life was far from being so rosy. Alexander Chislov died on August 29, 2019, he was only 54 years old.
A dream that didn't exist
Vladimir Pavlovich and Valentina Alexandrovna Chislovs met and started a family in Grozny, where the future actor and his sister, who was 3 years older, were born. The boy grew up sociable and cheerful, but he never dreamed of a theatrical stage or filming a movie. True, he easily became the center of attention in any company, knew how to defuse a tense atmosphere with a successful joke and bring smiles on the faces of those present.
When he turned 18, the family moved to Moscow and here, unexpectedly for himself, Alexander Chislov became interested in creativity. At first, he just enjoyed watching theatrical performances, visiting exhibitions, museums, and cultural events. And then he graduated from the theatrical studio "Harmony", the head of which was Mikhail Romanenko.
The teacher objectively assessed the abilities of his student and realized that he would make a wonderful comedian. Alexander Chislov studied diligently, diligently mastering the basics of acting, over and over again repeating sketches and trying on different images.
The first films with the participation of the young actor were released in 1989, and after that the directors gladly invited him to episodic roles in films and TV series. He never gave up work and enjoyed playing both simple village men and recidivist criminals.
At the same time, Alexander Chislov was never burdened by the lack of main roles, on the contrary, in his opinion, work in episodes requires more responsibility. Indeed, in a small role, the artist must play in a short time in the frame so that the viewer will remember him. He starred in several films directed by Khusein Erkenov, was remembered for his vivid works in the TV series "Daddy's Daughters," "Kamenskaya," film the prize for the best actor at the film festival "Smile, Russia!" in Tula. And for several years in a row he was a member of the jury of creative competitions, including the Cosmofest festival for people with disabilities.
Many directors noted: Alexander Chislov differed from his colleagues in some kind of childlike spontaneity, the ability to look at life with enduring surprise. But no one knew how the actor lives outside the set.
Life behind the scenes
Alexander Vladimirovich categorically refused to talk about his personal life. It is only known that the actor has never been married and has no children. Perhaps loneliness was the reason that Alexander Chislov began to get involved in alcoholic beverages. Colleagues noted that after the shooting day, he always allowed himself to relax, but no one saw him in a state of strong alcoholic intoxication.
In 2013, the elder sister of the actor died, but Alexander Vladimirovich tried not to dwell on the loss of a loved one. Within a few hours after the funeral, he was on the set, and no one even knew that the actor had a misfortune.
In the past few years, Alexander Chislov appeared less and less in public, and then completely began to lead an almost reclusive lifestyle. In the apartment where the actor lived, since 2004 the actor Denis Serdyukov rented a room, who began to notice that his neighbor and friend had changed a lot.
After the death of Irina Tsyvina, the widow of Yevgeny Yevstigneev, with whom Serdyukov had a close relationship, Alexander Chislov gave up very much. He began to fear that he would be poisoned in order to get an apartment in Moscow. Despite the fact that he had drawn up a will long ago, according to which the apartment was to go to his niece Svetlana, the actor began to talk about the threats he received.
Soon he stopped eating altogether, and angrily rejected all offers of help. He was in an extreme degree of exhaustion, he felt very bad, but the doctors of the ambulance, which Svetlana called, could not persuade the actor to agree to hospitalization.
Only the film crew of the Live TV program with Andrey Malakhov were able to insist that Alexander Chislov finally go to the hospital. By this time, the actor had not eaten for ten days for fear of being poisoned. On the air of the program, he claimed that the fate of Irina Tsyvina awaited him and asked for help.
A sad ending
After an examination at the hospital, it turned out that there was a real threat to the actor's life. He had advanced pneumonia, severe exhaustion of the body caused by prolonged refusal to eat. True, in response to the doctor's suggestion to eat at least a couple of tablespoons of chicken noodles, Alexander Chislov demanded cognac as a load of food.
According to the actor's attending physician, Chislov's addiction to alcohol served the development of polyneuropathy, and the fear of poisoning and refusal to eat led to multiple organ failure. On August 26, 2019, "Live" was released with the participation of the actor. And three days later he died in the intensive care unit of a Moscow hospital. His emaciated body was unable to cope with pneumonia.
Unfortunately, even after his death, Alexander Chislov's problems did not end. Today, the actor's relatives, an elderly mother and niece Svetlana, are trying to find money for the funeral. The actor did not have any savings, and his fees were only enough for daily needs.
I would like to hope that colleagues of Alexander Chislov will help his mother and niece to fulfill the actor's last wish about cremation and burial of ashes at the Nikolo-Arkhangelsk cemetery.
Irina Tsyvina, whose fate Alexander Chislov was afraid to repeat, was the widow of Yevgeny Evstigneev. And they met on the set of the film "Winter Evening in Gagra".
