Swedish photographer Bertil Nilsson has created a breathtaking series of works titled "Naturally" featuring naked dancers posing against the backdrop of beautiful natural landscapes. Twirling, pirouettes and stunning balancing on the tops of fallen trees, hillsides and against the backdrop of the sea are truly impressive.
The idea of photographing naked athletes in nature is not new. For example, as a result of the tremendous work of the talented Acey Harper and the inhuman perseverance and professionalism of circus performers, an incredibly beautiful project "Private acts: The Acrobat Sublime" appeared. This series of photographs is surprisingly close in spirit and embodiment to the photographic project of Bertil Nilsson. However, Nilsson went further. To give a special visual effect, the photographer came up with the idea to shower the naked bodies of the participants in the shooting with a special colored powder.
“Working actively with professional dancers and circus performers, I find inspiration in the movement and shape of the human body. Photography is my main means of expression,”says the photographer. The "Naturally" project is precisely the "fruit" of this inspiration, and in addition, an attempt to explore the interaction of nature and man. Working with nudity in a natural environment for humans is a kind of attempt to establish a connection with the past. “I add certain“cultural elements”to the natural communication of human nature: color, shape, dance movements. I like to control the world around me, at least visually. I sort of oppose order to chaos,”says the artist.
