He even created a fund called the Elton John AIDS Foundation, which raised more than $ 200 million to support AIDS and HIV programs. Together, Elton John and Macron recalled the fundraising campaign, which will go to fight against the diseases already mentioned, as well as malaria and tuberculosis. This collection will take place in Lyon in October. The solemn ceremony of presenting the order has become one of the most important components of the French Festival of Music. This is the name of the festival, the funds from which will also be spent on the fight against AIDS.
A day earlier, Elton John's concert took place in Paris, which was part of a tour called Farewell Yellow Brick Road. The concert lasted almost three hours. The British musician does not plan to visit the Russian Federation on this tour.
It is worth remembering that not so long ago a film about Elton John was released, which turned into a scandal in the Russian box office. This film is called "The Rocketman" and before it was released on the big screens in Russia, the distributor decided to remove scenes with drugs and gay sex scenes. Cutting them was associated with the fact that otherwise the film would not comply with the current legislation. But the law itself prohibits the promotion of homosexuality among minors, and after cutting out some scenes, the film never got rid of the 18+ label.
Medinsky, the Russian minister of culture, in a commentary on this situation, said that very little was removed from the film. At the same time, he drew attention to the fact that in China a much larger number of scenes will be removed from the film, and if this film is released in cinemas in Saudi Arabia, only the titles with the title will be left from it.
