On Monday 1 July in Karlovy Vary, at the International Film Festival, the European premiere of the film "The Bull" took place. This is a feature film directed by Boris Akopov, who is also a screenwriter.

They decided to show this film in the historic palace of the city theater, which is the most prestigious venue of the festival. The old hall is designed for the simultaneous seating of 400 spectators. When the movie "The Bull" was shown, this hall was completely full. This film story was presented by the producer Fedor Popov, Yuri Borisov, the actor who performed the main role, and also Boris Akopov himself.

During a conversation with news outlets, Boris Akopov said that the film titled "Bull" was his first full-length work. Moreover, this work turned out to be very successful, as it was able to take one of the most prestigious awards of the Russian Federation in June 2019. The main prize of the Kinotavr Film Festival became such an award. He noted that he was filled with creative powers and wanted to start working on a new tape soon.

Journalists and film critics who attended the European premiere of the Russian director's film drew attention to his impressive creative potential. Fedor Popov, the producer of the film "Bull", who holds the position of general director at the production center "VGIK-Debut", has the same opinion.

During his speech, Fyodor Popov said that he considers it a matter of special pride to receive prestigious awards at world competitions for young filmmakers from Russia, one of which is the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

A film titled "Bull" by director Boris Akopov was presented at the festival in the section "To the East from the West". This film tells about a young man who is the leader of a criminal gang. The title of the film is the nickname for this leader. A young man has to provide for his family, and therefore he is ready to earn money by any means. One day he finds himself in a police station, from where he manages to get out thanks to one of the authorities in Moscow. In return, this faction leader must now perform a small but dangerous service. In addition to this film, 11 more films were included in the competition program of the section. The winners of the Karlovy Vary festival will be determined on 6 July.
