Legend has it that everything Midas touched turned to gold. But the modern Polish artist Marta Klonowska another gift: in contact with historical paintings, she turns them … into glass. True, not the whole picture as a whole, but only the animals that are depicted on the canvas. Foxes, dogs, lynxes - even if the artist conceived them as a minor character, then for Marta Klonovskaya they instantly become the main characters.
Glass sculptures by Marta Klonovskaya have an amazing feature: created in life size, from a distance they give the impression of soft and fluffy animals that you immediately want to stroke, however, coming closer, it is easy to understand that they are made of glass shards. For each glass sculpture, the artist chooses a simple, rich color. First, she makes a metal frame covered with wire mesh, onto which the glass elements are directly attached. In the exhibition, Marta Klonowska places her exhibits next to the original paintings to make the effect more convincing.
In addition to a variety of dogs, you can even find a lemur, a rabbit or a goat in Martha's collection. All animals are surprisingly graceful and look as realistic as possible. The artist herself admits that her work is aimed, first of all, at demonstrating a new approach to art. The sculptures are perceived by the viewer as a three-dimensional projection of the picture, which creates a new range of feelings and emotions. Such a clash of realities can be an impulse for people to think about the uncertainty of life.

From this material, she then creates unusual, very interesting sculptures that look like strange people or animals
