As a child, Laura Wesson loved to draw Disney characters, and then was seriously going to become an animator. But the girl was embarrassed by the need to work a lot at the computer, so she doubted to the last. It was then that the future student was offered to study illustration.
As a result, Laura Wesson did not begin to study moving pictures, but she does not regret it, because instead of a cartoon fairy-tale world, she got an equally fabulous subject of the image - the world of fashion and beautiful life. The artist flips through the piles of magazines, and the gloss illuminates her path to the land of a woman's portrait.
In contrast to her interest in drawing, the artist developed a passion for fashion at a conscious age, when she worked as a student in a clothing store. Suddenly, Laura Wesson liked to dress mannequins and be aware of all the fashion trends. And along the way, her own style was formed: both in clothes and in painting.
So, the artist's creative manner was developed during her years of study at the University of Westminster. Laura Wesson always draws by hand, believing that digital painting is often missing something. Materiality perhaps?
Laura Wesson's portraits of women are a mixture of pencil drawing, soft watercolors and crisp ink strokes. The artist does not set herself the task of saving the world with the help of beauty. She preaches the principle of "art for art's sake" and argues that her works often do not have deep meaning, but are intended only to delight the eyes of the audience.
