The cover of your favorite album is also a separate art, since the artist, to one degree or another, needs to convey the concept of the album, while trying to make something memorable. Of course, we all have our favorite covers, and probably among them are works by Storm Thorgerson, who made CD covers for Pink Floyd, Muse, Led Zeppelin, Mars Volta, The Cranberries and many others. Take a look at these works apart from the CD and you will see authentic works of art.

Storm Thorgerson covers are true masterpieces in photography, abstract art in painting, industrial landscape and other subtypes of fine art. You've probably seen some of these works. It is possible that it was many years ago - Storm has been working since the late sixties. In terms of importance in the world of music, Storm can be equated with Anton Cobrain, the most important celebrity photographer. In fact, without what these two guys are up to, a lot of the stars wouldn't be famous - after all, there is a high enough percentage of people who choose new music to listen to on the cover. This part is blown away by Storm Thorgerson. Well, Anton is already responsible for the group's image.

We have already written about one artist who paints album covers for extreme music like the Pig Destroyer ensemble. His name is John Dyer Bazley, and his work is hardly familiar to a wide range of people.

Storm Thorgerson was born in Potters Bar, England in 1944. Draws covers from the late sixties, adding painting masterpieces list of covers of the company "Hypnosis", which, in fact, specialized in this. Later he opened his own studio “StormSttudios”, which, in addition to him, employs a narrow group of talented freelance artists.

He did album covers for many bands, but most of all for Pink Floyd. His diffused light prism, invented for the album "Dark side of the moon", is considered one of the best covers of all time (however, Storm in this case is only the author of the design, not the final drawing, but the idea is still the main thing). Like many before him (and even more after), one of the main ideas that Storm Thorgerson uses in his work is to change reality. He likes to place certain objects outside their usual context, surrounding them with gigantic spaces. A striking example is the cover with a giant eye. “I love photography because it depicts reality, as opposed to painting, which depicts the unreal. I love to confuse reality, bend it. Some of my works raise the question of whether it really exists or not,”says Storm Thorgerson himself.
