Among commercial companies and corporations such a phenomenon as rebranding - updating the trademark, which consists in creating a new logo, ideology and even a name. But it happens that… states are also subjected to rebranding. One of the first countries that decided to change their image and graphic perception was Canada, commissioned by which it was recently launched Know Canada ad campaign.
The average inhabitant of the Earth associates Canada primarily with maple syrup, hockey, beavers and maple leaves. Of course, the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver significantly changed the perception of this country, but not as much as the Canadians themselves would like.
In order to show the world the main cultural, historical, architectural and other reasons for the pride of the inhabitants of Canada, the Know Canada information and advertising campaign has just been launched!
The main visual component of Know Canada's campaign is the logo, which consists of two vertical red stripes. This image is based on the flag of Canada, but instead of a maple leaf, in this case, you can use literally anything.
For example, as part of the Know Canada campaign, between the two red stripes, you can see the image of the singer Justin Bieber, the TV Tower in Toronto, actress Pamela Anderson, as well as all kinds of other famous people, natural, historical, cultural and architectural attractions.
Designers from Studio Bruce Mau Design have created a unique visual tool in the form of these two red vertical stripes that can be used in advertising, government activities (for example, in stamps), holiday decoration and many other fields of activity. In fact, this is Canada's new logo - simple and recognizable.
Canada wants to be perceived as a modern country that has something to be proud of. And the introduction of Know Canada's awareness campaign and the country's new logo is one step towards fulfilling that hope.
