Stargazer, Lake Malawi
Stargazer, Lake Malawi

Somewhere far, far from here … No, not at all on the shore of a lunar lake, but also in a rather romantic place, an amateur stargazer surveys the amazingly clear sky, dotted with myriads of small luminous points. The magical photo was taken on Lake Malawi in Africa, on one of the golden sandy beaches in southern Malawi.

It is called the eighth wonder of the world - its width is four times larger than the Niagara Falls: the height of the cascades is from 72 to 86 meters, and the width is 3-4 km. Iguazu is a whole system of two-stage cascades, and the border of Brazil and Argentina runs along the central cascade of 28 main ones. In Spanish it is called Gargante del Diablo, which means "The Devil's Throat". In 1984, Iguazu was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Elephants, Uganda
Elephants, Uganda

One of the attractions of Queen Elizabeth Park in Uganda is the number of elephants, of which there are about 2, 5 thousand. This is much more than it was after the severe cases of poaching in the 1980s. Outside the reserve, elephants trample and eat the crops of the local population, and they were forced to injure and even kill them. Today, attacks have decreased as vegetable gardens and fields protect wide trenches from intruders.

Reindeer, Scandinavia
Reindeer, Scandinavia

A picturesque photograph taken in Scandinavia on a moonlit night, this is not just a herd of reindeer looking for a place to spend the night in the open air. Local herders usually divide the reindeer population into special enclosures called gárdi, which have compartments to separate the pregnant female reindeer from the rest.

Lake Assal, Djibouti
Lake Assal, Djibouti

The saltiest lake on earth is called Assal and is located in the central part of the Republic of Djibouti. The closest competitor in salinity is the Dead Sea. Lake Assal, however, is also dead precisely because of its salinity. So, the shores of this lake are covered with salt, the soil is also saline, therefore flora and fauna were not found in the reservoir. In hot weather, the water on the shore of the lake evaporates, leaving behind rings of useful minerals.

Buffalo Race, India
Buffalo Race, India

Flounder is a traditional bull pair race in Karnataka (India). A mud-filled field is used as a track. The driver, usually a farmer, runs almost at the level of the bull, holding it by the string, and using it to guide the animal along the track. A dangerous sport, but tourists and locals alike love it.
