The mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of the Qin dynasty, is considered one of the most amazing places on earth, because not only the emperor himself is buried in it, but also several thousand of his clay soldiers, the so-called Terracotta Army โ€ฆ People found several statues of soldiers made of baked clay back in 1974, and when official excavations began, historians discovered more than 8 thousand such sculptures. It is believed that the soldiers from the army of the emperor accompanied him to the afterlife in order to be his reliable support and protection there. This historical fact served as an excellent subject for creativity: at the Asphalt Painting Festival in Florida, Dutch artist Leon Keer, along with other street artists from the association Planet streetpainting drew a huge image Terracotta army of Lego soldiers โ€ฆ Perhaps this work would not have caused so much noise if the authors had not made it an optical illusion. So, initially it seems that the images of terracotta soldiers are disproportionate and stretched, but it is worth looking at them from a certain angle, and they immediately become three-dimensional, three-dimensional figures.

It took the Planet Streetpainting team a little less than a week to first chalk out a special grid with the correct perspective distortion, then outline the future drawing, and only then transfer it from paper to asphalt at a scale of 1: 100. As a result, we can see Terracotta Lego-warriors, as if rising from the ground to protect the spirit of their master, Emperor Qin Shi Huang.
