I believe that you are all familiar with the characters of the world's most famous theater - the shadow theater - from early childhood. Well, who has not folded hares, dogs, giraffes, roosters and dragons from the fingers, putting his hands under the light of the night lamp, and laughing at the shadows that appear on the opposite wall? American artist Larry Kagan until now he likes to participate in such "performances", however, instead of fingers, he uses wire figures, which he makes himself. However, Larry Kagan's work can hardly be called "shadow theater". Yes, the artist really does play with light and shadow, but in his case, shadows are just images, pictures that are obtained if light is directed at a specific angle to wire figures. Otherwise, nothing will come of it.
By themselves, the figures of Larry Kagan look like shapeless skeins of wire, similar to those lying on construction sites and wastelands. But as soon as the "correct" ray of light is directed at them, these figures turn into people and animals, objects and plants, or even whole episodes from life. This is the secret of Larry Kagan's unusual creativity.
