Video: The passage of time in the photographs of Yves Medam

Typically, photographers tend to capture one specific moment in their photographs. Sometimes it happens spontaneously, and sometimes authors have to spend long hours with a camera in hand, waiting for that moment to come. Canadian Iva Medama (Yves Medam) everything is not so: in each of his works, he does not seek to "stop the moment" - no matter how beautiful it may be. The author's goal, on the other hand, is to show the passage of time and its variability.
Of course, in order to show how a given place changes, one photo is not enough. Therefore, Yves Medam has to take dozens and hundreds of pictures, choosing different angles, and then using a computer to combine them into one image, making an incredible collage. Surprisingly, despite the fact that the author's works consist of separate fragments, they look very holistic: it seems that this is not the result of hours of sitting at the computer and combining dozens of sources, but one somewhat non-standard photograph, and Yves Medam's real talent is not that to make digital collages, but in the fact that he knows how to photograph time itself.
“It seems to me that although I work with photography, in fact I get something completely opposite, - says the author. - I photograph reality, capture the present moments, but after that I construct something imaginary, working with forms and time. I photograph the place for an hour and then mix everything that happened during that time, creating something real and not real at the same time. Everything that you see in one image actually happened, but not at the same time."
Yves Medam has worked as an advertising photographer for fifteen years. However, recently everything has changed too much: it has become fashionable to engage in photography, and everyone who has learned to hold a camera in their hands imagines themselves to be real photographers. In such conditions, Yves wanted to change his occupation, but still his love for photography turned out to be stronger. Then the author decided that he had to do something unique and inimitable, to find his own style that would make him stand out from the crowd. That was three years ago, and now Yves Medam can confidently say that this unique style has been found.

An old secret passage, as in the tale of Pinocchio, was found in the British Parliament
In the British Parliament, during the renovation work, a secret passage was discovered, which was built in the 17th century. Like in the fairy tale "The Golden Key", the keyhole leading to the secret room was disguised for many years and remained unnoticed. This secret corridor of Westminster Palace is practically the embodiment of the popular expression "political behind the scenes"
Time Lapse: The Beauty of Canned Time in Alan Sailer's Photo
“Do not think down on seconds,” calls out the harsh Soviet song from the TV series “Seventeen Moments of Spring”, and compares the moments of time with bullets whistling at the temple. Without knowing it, the photographer Alan Sayler gave weight and concreteness to this metaphor: his strong point is high-speed, or, as it is more often called, slow-motion shooting of objects collapsing under the shots. And he made the right choice with the choice of the topic: these photographs brought him real popularity
