It is not yet clear to scientists or philosophers where ideas come from in the human head. But the sculptor Paul Coxage believes that this process is similar to the occasional blowing of the wind. This he illustrates with his installation entitled "A Gust of Wind", created for the London Design Festival (London Design Festival 2010).
Paul Coxage has already featured at the London Design Festival with an installation titled "Drop" on a London street. He invited any passer-by to become both a creator and a patron of the arts.
But it is not only her that Coxage is represented at this Festival. On the very first day of this major event, his own installation "A Gust of Wind" was presented, representing three hundred white sheets, as if torn from the spot by a strong breeze.
Each of these sheets reads "A place for an idea." And it's not just that!
The installation "A Gust of Wind" lasted exactly one day. After that, it was taken apart, literally, by leaflet. And all of them were distributed to the participants of the London Design Festival with a proposal to depict some unusual idea on them.
Those who responded to this proposal, at the end of the Festival, must hand over these sheets with their ideas, so that specialists would subsequently evaluate them and think about how all this intellectual wealth can be realized in the future.
