In the minds of most people, dolls are associated with something bright, kind, with memories from childhood. Here comes the photographer Mariel Clayton believes that they have their own dark side. To illustrate these guesses of hers, she created a series of photographs in which she shows pages from life bloodthirsty beauties Barbie.
As you know, beauty requires sacrifice. But no one said that these sacrifices should be on the part of the very person who wants to be beautiful. If anything, this twisted thought becomes clear when looking at Mariel Clayton's photographs.
This photographer has chosen a seemingly banal topic for herself. She photographs dolls, specifically, dolls from the Barbie series: Barbie herself, Ken and others. But these photographs have very strange plots.
In all of them, the beautiful Barbie in one way or another kills her beloved Ken. The most popular storyline is the beheading of a plastic boyfriend. But not only the sudden absence of the head is the only reason for the death of the doll. Ken gets hit by the wheels of the car and is killed by the washing machine. He is stabbed to death by Barbie herself, their children together, as well as guests of the dollhouse.
Barbie boils Ken's head in a saucepan, washes it in a typewriter, releases blood from the body of a former partner, turns a still-living beloved into a slave. Sexual orgies and perversions, as well as alcohol and drugs, are not alien to the plastic beauty.
In general, this beautiful doll really has a very rich dark side of life. It is not clear only what the photographer Mariel Clayton hates more: dolls or men. The photographs of Kristyna Milde show that the author really loves the Barbie doll, but it is difficult to understand from the work of Mariel Clayton whether she loves anyone at all.

Calling her just a doll doesn’t dare. Barbie immediately became popular and in demand, and during her existence she had a plastic family, home, spouse, children, friends, and various professions.
