This artist does not need a camera to capture what he sees around him. But nevertheless, photographs are present in his works. True, black and white, always, without exception. And these are not photographs at all, but pictures drawn with a simple pencil on plain white paper. Hyperrealistic creativity Armin Mersmann they are always masterpieces that delight and fascinate. However, the artist still uses the camera, solely in order not to force the sitters to come to his studio every day and sit for several hours without moving in one position. Moreover, in order to paint a "real" portrait, Armin Mersman needs up to 800 hours of work, hard labor, comparable only to the work of Chinese embroiderers with beads. But the result is worth it.
Only a simple pencil of medium hardness and paper - nothing else that the author would use in his work. And no feathering, except that small "paint" with a finger and slate chips to create textures, to give the paintings volume, and portraits - realism. Of course, most of the time is spent on drawing out details and trifles, because without them the picture will be as if unfinished, the story will be unsaid, and the image will be unfinished. Unacceptable!
Despite the fact that it was his pencil photographs that brought fame to the author, he also works in other genres. You can see all these works directly on Armin Mersmann's website.
