PencilDespite all its simplicity, it is probably the most versatile tool for painting. Indeed, with its help, you can draw even the most complex images that look perfect realistic and unusual … This is what the Dutch artist does. Ramon Bruin.
In recent years, illusion paintings have become increasingly popular, transforming the asphalt plane into a three-dimensional magical world. But it turns out that such images can be painted not only with paints on city streets, but also in much more cramped conditions. For example, with simple pencils on A4 sheets of paper.
As an example of such creativity, we can cite the works of the Dutchman Ramon Bruin, who, with the help of minimal technical equipment, creates absolutely magical works that go far beyond the plane of an ordinary paper sheet.
Ramon Bruin's paintings, despite the fact that they are drawn with a simple pencil, have a real volume, and even interact with objects outside the paper. Moreover, the author deliberately adds such elements to his drawing, thanks to which it is generally difficult for an outside viewer to understand where the fictional world ends and the real world begins.
It seems that Ramon Bruin didn’t skip his perspective lessons when he was in art school. After all, he skillfully uses it, turning the painted into reality. In any case, visually, in the photographs of my work.
Ramon Bruin himself says that he invites viewers to play a game with him so that they try to guess which part of the images shown in the photographs is real and which part is drawn. He creates puzzle pictures, combining fiction with reality, braiding them into an amazing symbiosis and presenting them to the admiring public. The latter, by the way, perceives such artistic experiments with a bang!
