Whether we like it or not, we have to admit that graffiti enlivens gray and dull cityscapes, bringing brightness and color to them. But what to do if some of these landscapes are already alive - in the truest sense of the word? “Inner City Snail” is a unique project by the acclaimed creative Slinkachu who, using non-toxic paint, turned common snails into masterpieces of urban art.
“In 2008, I started the Inner City Snail project, which was about decorating snail shells that I found in London,” Slinkachu says. "After decorating, I returned all the snails to their places, giving them the opportunity to go about their business in the city." Not a single snail was harmed during the implementation of an extremely unusual author's venture - Slinkachu assures all wildlife defenders of this on its website.
"Inner City Snail", according to the author, is a satirical depiction of street art. In this project, Slinkachu shows us how absurd our society can go when there is an urgent need to cover any suitable surface with graffiti, signs and advertisements.
Slinkachu was born in London in 1979. He tells about his biography briefly and simply: “I was idle from 1979 to 2006. He started doing business in 2006”. Slinkachu is better known as the author of a series of urban miniatures "Little People Project", which we have already talked about earlier.
