Just as in the train carriage, no matter how full it is, a person can always squeeze in at each new station, so in modern art every day someone more insane appears. For example, Gina Osterloh, a photographer from the United States, who creates crazy photographs using live models, colored paper and papier mache. And each strange work has its own interesting idea.
Gina Osterloh seems to create small pieces with her camera madness … Gina graduated from the California Institute of the Arts in 2007 (where she now lives and works), after which she has successfully exhibited in the USA, Australia, the Philippines and other countries. Now her strange ideas are quoted throughout the art world.
Gina's works differ significantly from each other in what is happening, but all are united by a certain idea of isolation, madness, claustrophobia. And all this is conveyed not in the vile form in which contemporary post-modern artists are used to doing it, but with the help of colored paper. That only adds insanity to these works.
The people in these photos of Gina Osterloh, whose faces we do not see, as if they reach some extreme, limit, strive to get rid of something, but from what, they themselves do not know. The fact that all this is expressed in such an unusual way - through colored paper - probably symbolizes a complete confusion in the soul. This is probably what the soul looks like when its owner cannot find his place in life.
More information about the artist can be found on her website.
