On January 10, the famous theater and film actress, People's Artist of Russia Valentina Telichkina celebrates her 75th anniversary. She began acting in films at the age of 20, and at 22 her first popularity came to her. However, the actress received national recognition and fame very late, when she no longer expected to continue her acting career. She had to wait just as long for personal happiness …

In her youth, many people envied Valentina - a simple girl from a rural hinterland, the seventh child from a peasant family, she left for Moscow after school and on the first attempt entered 3 theater universities at once. Telichkina chose VGIK. Already during her studies, at the age of 20, she made her film debut. However, in the film "Taiga Landing" her relatives never saw her: when the picture was brought to the local cinema, the projectionist - a relative of the Telichkin - cut out all the pieces of the film with episodes of her heroine and handed it out to everyone as a keepsake.

The actress also failed to please the family with her second job. At 22, she starred with Sergei Gerasimov himself in the film "Journalist". Her heroine, phlegmatic, serious to laughing Valya Korolkova, the editorial courier, seemed to her relatives so strange and eccentric that they were upset: after all, their daughter in life is much more interesting and smarter, why did she go to the artist to shame herself like that! When the episodes with Telichkina were filmed, even the director rolled with laughter, but not all viewers appreciated his sense of humor - many decided that this was not a professional actress, but a real courier, because she did not play at all, in their opinion! Her colleagues also said that she did not play - she just lived in the frame, and in completely different roles. Probably, for an actress, there can be no better compliment.

Her parents were really very far from art and could not assess the level of their daughter's professional skills - her mother worked as a saleswoman, her father was a feller known throughout the district - the whole village wore his felt boots. The family was prosperous, for which his father suffered: he was dispossessed, he spent many years in prison, but he never complained about fate and knew how to start everything from scratch. Probably, this firmness of character, faith in one's own strengths and the ability not to lose heart and not despair, no matter what happens, are the main traits that Valentina inherited from her father. Outwardly, she looks soft, meek, gentle, but with all this she has a firm and unbending character, thanks to which Telichkina more than once found the strength to abruptly change her life and start everything from scratch.

Valentina was a real Russian beauty - a thick braid to the waist, soft facial features, smooth movements. She always had many fans, but she did not get married for a very long time. She compared all the gentlemen with her father, and none of them benefited from this comparison. She still met her man. "", - the actress admitted. Valentina Telichkina married the Moscow architect Vladimir Gudkov at the age of 35, after several years of civil marriage, and remains with him to this day. She never speaks about her family in interviews, strictly following her father's advice all her life - not to flaunt what is most intimate.

Telichkina believes that after 40 years she began to grow younger - after the birth of her son, she seemed to be born again herself. Since then, her acting career has faded into the background for her, and her family has become the greatest value. This period coincided with the crisis in cinema in the 1990s. Films were almost never shot, and in those that came out, there were no roles for Telichkina - her type suddenly turned out to be unclaimed. Of course, the actress suffered from creative failure, but she was able to find another use for her talent. During that period, she was carried away by painting and began to paint pictures - the same light, warm, cheerful, as she was herself. She decorated the walls of her house with them, gave them to loved ones.

When Telichkina no longer thought about continuing her film career, a sharp turn took place in her fate again. In 2002, she was offered the role of Sasha Bely's mother in the TV series "Brigade". At first, she wanted to refuse, because she did not act in films about bandits in principle, but she was interested in the script. The image she created turned out to be so convincing and touching that Sergei Bezrukov could no longer imagine another screen mother for himself, and Telichkina again played the mother of his hero in the series "Yesenin". According to him, this actress was the embodiment of the best feminine qualities and the personification of the all-forgiving motherly love.
