What do sculpture and photography have in common? The ability to freeze the moment, capture and perpetuate grace. The master who managed to combine all the best of these two types of fine art is Vadim Stein. He does not just create studio photographs of dancers, every shot he captures is a heat of passion and a tense nerve.
Vadim Stein is from Kiev. Now he is 51 years old, for the last 10 years he has been living in St. Petersburg, working as a videographer. However, his real passion is sculpture and photography. Vadim is a sculptor-restorer by education. He devoted seven years to work at the Kiev Theater of Plastic Drama. There he served as a lighting designer. He also tried his hand at acting.
Later Vadim became interested in decorative sculpture and graphics. In order to successfully present his work, he began to study the art of photography, and succeeded in this direction. Over time, he began to photograph not only sculptures, but also models. To reveal the beauty and grace of the human body, he began to collaborate with dancers. The result of photo experiments turned out to be amazing.
Today Vadim Stein collaborates with leading dancers of Russia, actors of academic dances. His photographs become playbills for performances, are exhibited in exhibition halls, and replenish private collections.
Vadim Stein prefers to work in the studio, drawing the audience's attention to the dancers. Photographer Omar Roblem creates hypnotic photos of famous ballet dancers dancing right in the street … His photographs show not only masterful choreography, but also the dizzying rhythms of megacities.
