Elena Mayorov was married, and the union with the artist Sergei Sherstyuk was happy. But in the 1990s, her husband was left without work, and all material concerns fell on Elena's shoulders. In 1996, the actress fell in love with her filming partner Oleg Vasilkov. The husband guessed everything, but did not make scenes, and Elena rushed between the two men, unable to make the final choice. This situation was very burdensome for her, and problems with alcohol during this period worsened.
In the 1990s. the actress made several suicide attempts, but they were all demonstrative and "theatrical". But precisely because Elena had already tried to commit suicide, after the tragic incident of August 23, 1997, everyone decided that it was suicide. But the actor left the pager at home and did not answer her. With terrible burns in a state of agony, Mayorova managed to run to the service entrance of the Mossovet Theater, which was located next to her house, and fell unconscious. She was taken to the Sklifosovsky Institute, she lived for several more hours, but the doctors were powerless - burns occupied 85% of the body.
Elena's friend Tatyana Dogileva spoke to her on the phone that day and did not suspect something was wrong - her voice was calm. Dogileva finds in the death of Mayorova a mystical connection with the last roles she played: "".
