Stencil drawings by an anonymous artist Banksy became classics of modern painting, and their author is one of the most famous creators of our time. It got to the point that a British photographer Nick Stern created a series of images that bring Banksy stencils to the real world.
Banksy is one of the fundamental personalities of the entire modern art world! His work gave a huge impetus to the beginning of the creative path of many young authors, helped them find their own style and even become famous (as, for example, it happened with Mr. Brainwash). So Briton Nick Stern used Banksy's work to create his own works.
It is believed that painting only mirrors reality. But there are times when everything happens the other way around. Here is the work of Nick Stern - this is one of these incidents.
Nick Stern took a dozen of Banksy's most famous stencils and turned them into lifelike photographs, recreating street paintings with real people.
Looking at ordinary paintings, it is often very difficult to imagine how the people depicted on these canvases actually looked. What can we say about graffiti and stencils, on which in most cases only the general outlines of the characters and individual details of their appearance are visible!
However, Nick Stern managed to show the audience what the characters of Banksy's works really look like!
Stern's photographs show, for example, an old mother escorting her punk son to an anarchist demonstration, two kissing Bobbies (British police officers), Pulp Fiction characters holding bananas instead of pistols, a guy in sportswear, walking her angular dog, a girl conducting a search of an American soldier pinned to the wall.
We have seen all of this many times in the format of black images on the walls. Now, thanks to the work of Nick Stern, we can see these famous street paintings in colorful details!
