We are accustomed to the fact that, at least in natural conditions, outside of cities, light goes from top to bottom, from heaven to earth. But in works Lee Eunyeol with a common name Starry night our performance is turned upside down!
Light is one of the main tools of contemporary artists. Of course, such works will not survive for centuries, like the paintings of the great masters of the past. But they are experimental, interesting and very visual. An example of this is a series of light installations under the general title Starry Night by artist Lee Einol.
Starry Night, as the name suggests, depicts a starry, cloudless night with an enormous amount of light penetrating the darkness. But this light is emitted not by the sky, but by the earth.
For his Starry Night installations, Lee Einol placed a variety of LEDs in natural relief. He put them in the grass (remember the glowing grass from Luzinterruptus on the streets of Madrid), in the bushes, in the cracks of the cracked earth, placed them behind hillocks and stones, hung them on tree branches. As a result, when night fell, all this, starting to glow, turned into something fabulous, completely magical.
This is the goal that Lee Einol set for himself when creating these works. He wanted to show that a fairy tale, magic - they are quite real, you can see them, you can face them - you just need not be afraid to look around and learn to see beauty not only in the sky, but also on earth!
