The history professor from Argentina has a rather interesting hobby: he likes sunken ships … He has amassed a fairly large collection of photographs of old ships and encouraged other photographers to share their photographs on the topic. Cargo and passenger, small and huge, in the middle of the ocean and bogged down in the sand - in the resulting overview there are a wide variety of ships and boats, and it may so happen that some of them still keep treasures.
More often than not, a sunken ship is left to rust where misfortune befell it. Lifting and transporting a damaged ship is a very expensive procedure, so the owner company often concentrates on rescuing the crew and passengers, if necessary, as well as retrieving the cargo. Even before the beginning of the twentieth century, no one was involved in the salvation of the ship itself, considering it a senseless and dangerous undertaking. Today, however, there are many companies specializing in this almost jewelry work, but often it is still about small ships, and not about huge ships.
Some of the sunken ships became real celebrities, which you can still get to, look around and feel, if not a pirate, then at least a desperate captain.
