When abstract artist Dima Strelkoff talks about his work, he always uses musical terms. Perhaps this is because the author is very fond of music, but most likely the reason is different: music and painting are too closely interconnected, drawing unthinkable images in our imagination and making our hearts beat faster.
How to explain why this or the picture evokes certain feelings in your soul, whether you like it or not? In the traditional art of painting, this can be done by referring to the plot of the canvas. But what about abstractionism in this case? There is only one explanation, according to Dima Strelkoff - it's all about harmony.
Harmony is what the hero of our article strives for in his works. Just as a composer finds the right notes for his piece of music, so an artist must find the right colors, shades, images for his painting. And if you do not fake, then thanks to the created harmony, the picture will sound, regardless of what genre it was written in or what style it belongs to.
Strelkoff argues that parallels with music allow him to speak about his art in an accessible way and avoid boring and incomprehensible terminology. He compares his own paintings with jazz, considering it a phenomenal musical direction, putting the experience and experiences of the performer at the forefront.
A talented improvisational musician, Strelkoff argues, can not only play any piece, but also express his own feelings through the music. A similar situation in painting: with the help of drawing, the artist expresses his mood, and improvisation is important here no less, and even more than a premeditated and planned plot.
Dima Strelkoff is an artist from Moscow. He is a member of the International Federation of Artists and the International Fund for the Arts. His paintings can be found in private collections in Russia, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Japan, Portugal, Turkey.

Alexander Richelieu-Beridze is a Russian abstract painter living in France. His style can be defined as abstract expressionism, in which there is no plot, but there are forms and colors. It is interesting that the ancestors of Beridze belonged to the family of the royal Romanov family. Algebraic Harmony: Abstract Paintings by Thomas Briggs
From Pushkin's little tragedy "Mozart and Salieri", one can conclude that verifying harmony with algebra is a thankless task, worthy only of a dry pedant. Either art has since become drier, or algebra has significantly expanded its capabilities - but now algebra and harmony get along much better than in the days of Pushkin or Mozart. Proof of this - abstract paintings by the artist-mathematician Thomas Briggs
