Road in many cultures it has a sacred meaning: it is a symbol of the path of life, a place where the fate of a person manifests itself. Self-taught Slovak photographer Miro Simko presented a series of photographs entitled "Solitariness", in each of which he approached the concept of loneliness. The photographs show trucks driving along a deserted highway.
Black and white images of Miro Simco amaze with the contrast between the tiny size of the car and the almost endless roadbed. Despite the fact that the photographer captured multi-ton trucks, they look like toys. Loneliness and isolation from the outside world - this is what the talented master clearly demonstrates in his project.
Miro Simko deliberately avoids color photographs, as he is sure that a riot of colors scatters attention. He also tried to achieve the maximum concentration of spectator interest on the highway lined with white paint. Crisp lines and artistic minimalism lend a symbolic sound to these magnificent shots, each of which is "reigning" an amazing silence. The artist explains that photography gives him the opportunity to convey his own perception of the world, to express his emotions and experiences.
