Humor mixed in half with absurdity, creation through destruction, things we are used to in a non-standard, unreal form - all this is in the surrealistic work of the French artist and sculptor Jacques Carelman … A separate art project of the author is devoted to the topic of incredible, non-existent things, which is called that. Catalog of Impossible Objects … A glass hammer, which can only hammer in air nails, a teapot with a spout, from which you can pour tea only on your lap, a wavy tennis table, a lace condom and other everyday objects impossible in nature - all this is included in the specified catalog, invented by the author. Being a surrealist, he loved to play around absurd ideas, inventing absurd household items based on their motives. As they say, it's funny and sad, and useful and disappointing, but all together this is modern, extraordinary art.

Unlike industrial household items, such creative, impossible, non-existent things cannot be judged from the point of view of "what is the use of this." With his absurd projects, Jacques Kerelman decided to demonstrate how far a person can go in his desire to get a fundamentally new thing, invent a fundamentally new "something", reinvent the bicycle, and become the author of an ingenious discovery.

An artist first and foremost, Jacques Kerelman originally released his Catalog of Impossible Objects as an illustrated book. After some time, illustrations became full-fledged three-dimensional objects, sculptures, which are still displayed in art galleries as a separate exhibition.
