Presenting card boxes in a form is not new. Homeless people around the world use them as their makeshift street houses. But the Berlin artist Evol turns this kind of rubbish into … multi-storey buildings. True, non-residential.

So in a new series of his works, Evol creates multi-storey residential buildings where you would least expect it, namely, on empty cardboard boxes!

With the above tools, Evol transforms old cardboard boxes into multi-storey residential buildings. At least that's how it looks on the outside. He sticks images of windows, doors, street lamps, wires, fences, cars and other elements of the urban landscape onto the cardboard surface.
But at the same time, he does not touch the cardboard itself at all. So in these Evol artwork, you can see the torn edges of boxes, tape tapes, printed or handwritten lettering. True, they have been transformed by the skillful hand of the master into organic elements of the paintings.
