Paintings by an English artist from Brighton Mary Jane Ansell difficult to ignore. Mysterious oil portraits are surprisingly harmonious, the author tries to convey the lighting and the play of shadows as accurately as possible. The girls depicted by the craftswoman's brush look like nymphs: almost transparent, porcelain skin, expressive eyes and refined body lines.
Mary Jane Ansell does not strive to carry out her work in accordance with the canons of hyperrealism; she deliberately adds a drop of unnaturalness and pretense to the paintings. The artist draws inspiration from the world of haute couture, complementing the classic portrait with notes of "haute couture".
In 2013, a personal exhibition of the artist called "Liberty Rests" was held. Especially for this project, a series of paintings was created, which depict girls of model appearance, dressed in exquisite outfits. The paintings are literally saturated with aristocracy: the heroines look organically in luxurious interiors. However, we are not talking about young innocent creatures. The appearance on the canvases of such objects as a flag, a mask, a toy soldier, a globe, an army cap and a ceremonial tunic “signals” that the viewer has a woman's view of the problems of history, war, and true patriotism.

Why did an Italian designer provocateur create a chair in the shape of a female body, and Why did he advocate "female thinking"
The armchair in the shape of a woman's body, created by Italian designer Gaetano Pesce, has been reproduced and copied hundreds of times, without thinking about the meaning of the designer himself. Brawler and provocateur, Pesce always knew how to tell sad stories in the most extravagant way, declared that "masculine thinking" is unacceptable in modern design, and architecture should be pleasant … to touch
Exquisite portraits of the Baltic artist who was painting at the time Columbus discovered America: Michel Sittow
The spring self-isolation showed an interesting pattern: in search of inspiration to create their own masterpieces, the owners of the most modern cameras still turn to painting of past centuries. It is impossible to surpass those long-gone masters, no matter how fast technical progress moves forward. Looking at those works, it is hard to believe that they were created at a time when Columbus was just discovering America, and England was still Catholic
Thoughtful female portraits from an American artist
Mara Light is an artist from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA who paints extraordinary female portraits. In their technique, the paintings resemble classic paintings of the 19th century, in addition, they acquire a touch of "antiquity" due to the fact that paint smudges, careless spots, torn layers of mesh and light scratches can be seen on the canvas. Through all this chaos, like a ray of light in a dark kingdom, beautiful facial features peep through

He had many lovers, but only Lisa Treo, Margarita Legrand and Alina Sharigo became muses for him for many years
