To create beauty, create your own works of art, French artist Isa Barbier uses magic. The annotation to one of her works says so: feathers, air and magic. Magic, as well as sleight of hand, explains the fact that the artist's feathers become lighter than air, hang in space and form amazing geometric shapes that soar above the ground. Art project Suspended Feather consists of such fluttering feather installations. But as a rule, painstaking, laborious work is behind all sorts of magic. If you look closely, you can see thin threads on which snow-white feathers are strung. Fragile, airy, feather installations cannot be transported from place to place in the form in which they appear before the audience. Therefore, each time feather installations are reborn, like the Phoenix bird rising from the ashes.
Isa Barbier prefers to work with seagull feathers, but in her installations there are also "gifts" from other birds. Positioning her installations as friendly to nature, the artist notes that for the entire time that she has been working with this material, not a single bird has suffered.
