There are many places in the world that could be called real pearls in the necklace of tourist routes. However, when it comes to true charm and luxury, a reference architectural masterpiece, many think of Versailles, the elegant brainchild of French kings. If you happen to visit France in the near future, you will be surprised: in the middle of the Versailles Park you will see a unique installation by Italian artist Giuseppe Penone, which, at first glance, does not at all harmonize with the exquisite architecture of the Royal Palace.
Giuseppe Penone is a renowned sculptor who became famous for his love of natural materials. Most of his works were created of stone and wood, in particular, a funny matryoshka log, which we have already told the readers of the site Kulturologiya.ru about. Surprisingly, wooden sculptures by Giuseppe "took root" in the elegant Versailles, pointing, once again, to the problem of interaction between Man and Nature.
Giuseppe Penone's style is easily recognizable: the master takes natural materials as a basis, transforming them. This is how bizarre silhouettes of trees appear, the intricacies of the branches of which can be deciphered, like a Chinese hieroglyph. The sculptor himself explains that he is interested in the moment when a person re-creates nature, that is, an art object is born, which becomes a natural part of it.
Wooden sculptures by Giuseppe Penone now adorn the route along which the crowned persons loved to take their walks: they are placed from the Palace of Versailles to the Grand Canal.
