Video: Space, the Moon and the "backup" planets. Ron Miller art project

So far, humanity only dreams of how it will explore the galaxy, establish contacts with other civilizations and equip the nearest planets for life. Writers write science fiction novels about this, directors shoot fantasy films, and artists … And artists imagine that the world has turned upside down and the celestial bodies have changed places. So, an artist and a big fan of the space theme Ron Miller imagined what our night sky would look like if the moon were replaced by other planets. The art project of the space enthusiast includes photo manipulations depicting all the planets of the solar system known to us, "duplicating" the moon in the night sky. Moreover, the project is interesting not only for its creative idea. Ron Miller calculated the ratio of the sizes of the planets, took into account the distance from the Moon to the Earth and built his photographic representations from this astronomically correct point of view.
Surrealistic "photographs" also take into account scientific data on the chemical composition and state of the planets, demonstrating as accurately as possible the appearance of each of them, whether they are actually satellites of the Earth. Of course, making a significant discount on the fantasy nature of the project. Thus, the relatively small Mars and Venus do not differ significantly from the natural satellite, while the colossal sizes of Saturn and Jupiter change the landscape beyond recognition, occupying almost the entire sky.
It would be great, of course, to see such a sky with my own eyes. However, such metamorphoses are possible only if the apocalypse is approaching, and this is not the most desirable sight. You can see other creative projects of Ron Miller on his website.

The moon and a penny for her exploration: American cartoonists on funding space programs
Space exploration has always been costly. And if the budget is lame, and the external debt of the state is growing by leaps and bounds, then the government has to abandon heavenly affairs and focus on earthly ones. American cartoonists, as always, are aware of all the problems and are ready to offer humorous ways to solve them
