In "The Lay of Egorev's Regiment" the prophetic Bayan "spread Mysia (that is, a squirrel) along the tree", but Zheng Chunhui, a talented woodcarver from China, really spreads his thoughts along the tree. What else can you call his incredible work - a huge sculpture more than 12 meters long? Due to its fantastic size, this creation got into the Guinness Book of Records.
Zheng Chunhui mastered the art of wood carving to perfection. It took the master four years to create this high relief from a single piece of wood. Of course, not only the scale of the work is impressive, but also the jewelry precision with which every detail is recreated.
Zheng Chunhui took the famous panorama as the basis of his work "Along the river on Qingming day", created in the 12th century at the court of the Song dynasty. Qingming is a traditional Chinese holiday, the day of remembrance of the dead. As a rule, it is celebrated in April, people, enjoying the warmth, go to nature, and also visit the graves of their ancestors.
The fame of the scroll “Along the River in Qingming Day” is so great in the world that Europeans often call this work “the Chinese Mona Lisa”. During the existence of the original, dozens of variations on this theme were created, some canvases are so large that they reach 5-6 meters in length, there is even an 11-meter version, which depicts more than four thousand people. Zheng Chunhui very carefully approached the creation of his version of the painting: he did not modernize anything, but, on the contrary, tried to preserve the spirit of ancient China.
Wooden "canvas" from Zheng Chunhui tells the story of the life of the rich and the poor in a small town. The sculptor has recreated everything to the smallest detail: small houses, boats and even 550 tiny human figures. Of course, the sculpture from Zheng Chunhui will become a real asset of Chinese culture.
