The main working tool of any artist from time immemorial is paint. But there are originals that are used to create paintings and completely unusual materials. For example, recently an American David Goldberg created a copy of a famous painting "Starlight Night" from … brass door handles.
Starry Night is one of the most famous and cited paintings in the world! A huge number of artists around the planet have created copies of this work, made from a variety of materials, for example, from space images, dominoes, strips of paper and even beer bottle caps. And recently there was a replica of her and from the door handles.
American David Goldberg is the owner of a shop selling and repairing doors. For several decades he kept old brass pens, not knowing why. But recently he came up with the idea to draw with their help … a picture "Starry Night".
Goldberg himself says that he did not go up to hand over these old doorknobs for scrap. Indeed, for the result, he would have received mere pennies, which are not at all equivalent to the loss of a collection so cherished for a long time. Realizing this, David decided to take a creative approach to the problem of recycling a door accessory. This is how a copy of Vincent Van Gogh's "Starry Night" appeared.
It turned out that with the help of the elongated shapes of old pens, you can perfectly imitate the large, rough strokes of Van Gogh. And from a distance it is generally impossible to determine from what material David Goldberg created a copy of the famous painting.
Goldberg put his Starry Night on the window of his store - let customers and passers-by admire this beauty, combining the work of the great Dutch painter and hundreds of designers who have created doorknobs over the course of decades!

Starry Night - when heaven and earth change places
We are accustomed to the fact that, at least in natural conditions, outside of cities, light comes from top to bottom, from heaven to earth. But in the works of Lee Eunyeol, collectively titled Starry Night, our performance is turned upside down
Starry sky instead of city illumination. Thierry Cohen's painting art project Darkened Cities
For us, residents of big cities, the starry sky has long seemed dark and dim. The illumination of the metropolis, hundreds of thousands of flashing headlights of cars, illuminated high-rise buildings and businesses, bright neon lights, street lamps and decorative garlands, deprives the townspeople of the pleasure of contemplating the twinkling of stars overhead, finding and viewing constellations, making wishes during a starfall. Only far from the city, in the forest or in the mountains, we discover the real beauty of the starry sky. What would we see
"Moonlit Night on the Dnieper": mystical power and tragic fate of the painting by Arkhip Kuindzhi
"Moonlit Night on the Dnieper" (1880) is one of the most famous paintings by Arkhip Kuindzhi. This work made a splash and gained mystical fame. Many did not believe that the light of the moon could be conveyed in this way only by artistic means, and looked behind the canvas, looking for a lamp there. Many stood in silence for hours in front of the picture, and then left in tears. Grand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich bought "Moonlight Night" for his personal collection and took it everywhere with him, which had sad consequences
