Famous paintings by famous artists of the past inspire many contemporary artists with their example. This means that there is nothing surprising in the fact that this or that representative of contemporary art, no, no, but will give out on the mountain his interpretation of "Girls with a Pearl Earring", "Mona Lisa" or "Starry Night" by Van Gogh … So, Starry Night has already been reproduced from newsprint, dominoes, jelly candies and using the quilling technique. There have even been attempts to portray this immortal masterpiece of bottle caps and real, edible bacon. Against the background of this outlandish creativity, the astrophysicist art project Alex Harrison Parker looks much deeper and more serious, because it consists of real stars, planets and other space objects. Of course, in the form of photographs taken by the Hubble Space Telescope.
The astrophysicist took advantage of the latest computer technology to help him accomplish this challenging job. To do this, he downloaded 100 of the most popular Hubble photographs over the past 20 years, and based on them, he compiled a large-scale mosaic in the form of the famous painting by Vincent Van Gogh. Of course, each photo had to be duplicated several times to achieve the desired result, and this result is truly impressive.
The astrophysicist dedicated his art project to Hubble's 22nd birthday, and you can see an amazing mosaic of space images at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in Massachusetts.

Tin, not Van Gogh: "Starry Night" from bottle caps
Strange, but it is the "Starry Night" of the famous Dutchman that encourages people who are not indifferent to Post-Impressionism and drinks in glass containers to create funny reproductions. At the same time, the color scheme of the mosaic paintings changes, so that in some versions it becomes already difficult to recognize the original.
